The thirteen colonies were separated into three regions; the three regions were New England, Mid-Atlantic.
- New England was mainly puritan. Their economy was based on the industry and they had a large amount of merchants. The location of this region was Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Connecticut.
- Mid-Atlantic had a diversity of religion, but Catholics were more common. They did had a surplus of towns which benefited their trade and education. consist of farming and manufacturing. The location of this region was New York, Pennsylvania, and Delaware.
- Southern had very few churches because the people were there for the money. Their income was plantation based; they relied on physical labor and cash crops to make profit. Southern colonies had a hierarchical system which valued the plantation owners. They did not have a lot of towns, education, or churches- the ministers that lived there lived on the plantations. The location of this region was Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Georgia.
